OE-Pages Site Builder

Back To Previous Page

This page site is one of the harder ones to place the code on. It requires a small addition to the code and the spacing is very critical. If the spacing is off so much as one space it will cause the Page Builder Program to add <br> to the code when you save it and that will cause the code to not work right.

If you want to try to place the ring on this site you will find the instructions below. Be sure and make sure the spacing is right.

If you would like help placing the ring on this site Feel free to email me at BroAndy@christring.org and I will be glad to help in in any way I can.

Here is how to add the WebRing Code to a page at oe-pages.com using their basic editor.

1. Login to memnbers area at oe-pages. That will take you to Edit uh Page.

2. Under "Choose a Step" click on the Paragraph that you want to place the WebRing in.

3. You are now at the first step of editing the paragraph you choose. Check to make sure that the Template you use for this paragraph is checked. Then click on the "Next Step" Button at the bottom of the page.

4. You should now be on the Text Paragraph page. The white box in the middle of this page is where you edit this Paragraph. You should be looking at the text and html of this paragraph.

5. Scroll down in the box until you see where you want to place the WebRing. Place the cursor at that place and if there is text or html on both sides of it make room for the ring code by clicking the mouse a couple of time. Be careful that you do not place it in the middle of any HTML.

**A good place to place the code is at the bottom of the box at the end of all the text and html.

6. Now leave the window sit there and go to the email you received when you submitted your site to the WebRing. You will find the code for the WebRing in it. Copy the whole code starting with
<!--START OF ______ WEBRING CODE--> all the way thru
<!--END OF ______ WEBRING CODE--> .

If you are not sure how to copy and paste Click Here.

7. Once you have copied the code go back to the box where you want to place the WebRing Code in and look to make sure the cursor is still in the box. Then place you mouse beside it. Using your Keyboard type CTRL V . This should place the HTML Code in the box where you want the WebRing to appear on your page.

8. Now is when you have to add one little thing to the ring code. Copy this:

image.shtml

Now go to the ring code you just pasted and starting at the top come down to this point:

<!--START OF CHRISTIAN WEBRING CODE-->

<P ALIGN=CENTER><FONT SIZE="-1"><IMG SRC="http://www.ChristRing.org/image/ban_tcwr60a-03.gif" WIDTH=468 HEIGHT=60 VSPACE=2 BORDER=0 ALT="Click on a Christian Web Ring button" usemap="#map_tcwr03"> <----HERE

Now place the text you just copied right in front of the # symbol so it looks like this:

<!--START OF CHRISTIAN WEBRING CODE-->

<P ALIGN=CENTER><FONT SIZE="-1"><IMG SRC="http://www.ChristRing.org/image/ban_tcwr60a-03.gif" WIDTH=468 HEIGHT=60 VSPACE=2 BORDER=0 ALT="Click on a Christian Web Ring button" usemap="image.shtml#map_tcwr03">

Be sure to check the spacing before you move on to the next step.

9. Once you have all this done you are ready to save the page. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the "Next Step" Bottom.

10. This will bring you to the Line Divider page. Here you have to be careful. At the bottom of the page you will see a "Next Step" Button.

Right below it is the The Create uh Page Navigator, this will show up several time before you finish. In it is a "Save&Exit" link. Do not use this link. It will not save the ring code to your page.

Use the Next Step Button. Continue to use the Next Step on each page that shows up until you get to the last page (some were around eight time).

11. When you get to the last page the Button will say "Save Changes & Exit" Click on this button and it will finish saving your page to your site.

Now to view your changes just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the link to your pages. Check to see if the ring graphic it showing up and if the links are there.

12. Once you have the WebRing Graphic on your page and the links are there Just email one of the workers and let them know your site is ready to be checked for addition to the ring.

That should be it. You can view the page and the image should show up and all the links should be working. If you have a problem with this please contact: BroAndy@christring.org
