JANUARY
2001 - PASTOR JIM WESTGreetings in the Name of Jesus! This months Cyber-Church sermon is by Pastor Jim West. Pastor Jim was the founder of Cyber-Church.com. At the time of his homegoing in January 2000 Pastor Jim had a number of messages waiting for publication. Therefore, in accordance with the Lord's leading, we are posting them over the next few months. Pastor Jim's messages are for the most part in outline form. We will post them as he left them and trust the Holy Spirit to fill in any gaps. We pray you too will be blessed by the teachings of this Godly Saint that is now with the Lord. God bless you and yours As Was His Custom And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the Synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written, "The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Jesus went back home. To people He knew! He went into the synagogue, "As His custom was." Our custom should be to "Go into God's house." People should be able to expect us to be there! We can not "SEND" anyone to Church! We must set the example! And He read what He had written 800 years earlier. He was
bringing HIMSELF to them! And we should bring HIM, not our Church, not our pet projects,
not our problems, but JESUS to people.
V. 20 - And He closed the book, and
He gave [it] again to the minister, We must do the things of the Lord BEFORE THE BOOK IS CLOSED! For He says, in Revelations:
"And time shall be no more!" "Behold, I come quickly!" The book will be closed, it will be too late! |
