You're safe in the boat!

David looked down 1500 years into the future and said:

Read Psalms 107:23-30

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

He wrote about a Man he had never seen. He must have marvelled at the thoughts his God was putting in his head...

The people would wait centuries for this Messiah!

Isaiah 25:8-9

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken [it]. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this [is] our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this [is] the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

In the book of Luke, the Physician/Apostle wrote about it AFTER it happened!

Luke 8:22-25

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled [with water], and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

Now the Lord sets us on paths He wants us to follow....

In the beginning, it may be very clear.....

But sometimes things begin to happen!

People get in the way! Circumstances get in the way!

Money gets in the way! The devil gets in the way!

And we begin to falter and fear....

Where is the Lord when we need Him? Is He asleep again?

Has He abandoned me? Can't He see the water all around?

And we forget who we had been waiting for!

We forget who sent us!

He said, "Go over there."

Those were His instructions, "Go to the other side!"

And, Just In Time the Master of the sea stretches forth His calming hand!

He said, "Peace, be still !"

Verse 20 says,

"And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee."

Won't we EVER learn that God gets us through where He sends us?
