The first Adam, The second Adam and You!
He said, "Do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."
Man possessed the attributes (in His likeness) of God. Made in His Image. He
had no sickness, no want, no hunger, no cancer, no high blood pressure, no heart trouble .
. . .
He had DOMINION over all these things. The germs. The viruses. The
contaminations of time! His dominion was complete. And God said, "Let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and
over ALL THE EARTH, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
This was the first covenant, lost, and the NEW covenant, RESTORED!
Adam was very "God-like", but he had one quality that would be his
downfall. CHOICE! Without that choice, God would have had a 'puppet' instead of a willing
worshipper who would worship Him as God, in love and partnership.
Adam had only one situation in which to make a choice: God had said,
"Don't eat of that tree."
And Adam failed.
So, The ground was cursed. The Serpent was cursed. The trees and vines were
cursed. Adam was cursed. Eve was cursed.
And, without Christ, All mankind is under the curse.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death
by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
And so, Adam separated man from God! But God saw the great separation, the
nakedness of man, and hated it! And covered his nakedness with the skin of an animal. Then
God set in motion the ultimate course of action . . . He said "The serpent shall
bruise My heel, but I shall bruise his head."
God would have ALL men returned to Him. He instituted the sacrifice of an
innocent lamb as an atonement.
The STEP was only temporary, but the PLAN was permanent!
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between
thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
That promise was JESUS
Galatians 4:4-7 But when the fulness of the time was come, God
sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were
under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons,
God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God
through Christ.
And our RIGHTS are restored!
Our Covenant is restored! With an even BETTER Covenant!
Our Dominion is restored! Over satan and ALL powers in heavenly places!
Our health is restored! Our inheritance does NOT include sickness, disease!
Our prosperity is restored! Our inheritance does NOT include poverty!
Through Christ Jesus we are the "Righteousness of God" once again.
Old things are passed away and we are made new creatures in Him!
Once again "In His Likeness!"
Jesus, the Perfect Lamb, the Second Adam, has walked the life that the first
Adam should have walked!
He told us not to yield our bodies to evil: He said sin and unrighteousness
DOES NOT have dominion over us!
But - We could not have the attributes of God and not still have CHOICE.
We can choose to LIVE or we can choose to DIE!
