New Gospel for Today
Matthew 16:24-27
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose
it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man
profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man
give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father
with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
There is a "New Gospel" being preached in our Churches today.
It says, "There is no sacrifice in being a Christian."
It is a gospel of "Get" instead of
"Give."
It does not stress "Living", it stresses
"Loving!"
"I'd LOVE to
have that new car!"
"I'd LOVE to
have that new home!"
"I'd LOVE to
have a lot of money!"
"I'd LOVE to
have my neighbor's wife!"
The new gospel says, "God will understand."
"That God knows the circumstances."
"That God will overlook it if I lie."
"If I cheat - If I commit adultry."
"Because He understands the circumstances!"
But God says, "Be SURE your sins will find you out!"
We go through this life and make up our own rules.
God's rules are for someone else - Not for me!
Some how, some way, God will "wink" at what I do."
But God didn't wink at Ananias!
But God didn't wink at Sapphira!
But God didn't wink at Pharoah!
But God didn't wink at Belshazzar!
But God didn't wink at Jezebel!
God didn't wink at Nicodemus:
He said, "You must be born again"
God didn't wink at the Scribes and the Pharasees:
He said, "Except ye repent,
ye shall all
likewise perish"
Jesus said, "If any man will come after Me, let him DENY himself!"
He said, "Take up your cross and follow Me!"
This is NOT for your neighbor!
This is NOT for the preacher!
This is for YOU!
Jesus said, "Any Man!"
He wants you Sold OUT, Committed to HIM!
What I want doesn't really matter!
My will, my wants, my desires have to be, "What does Jesus want?"
We must count our lives "lost" for Jesus!
Because He said, "What is a man profited if he gain the whole world and LOSE his own
soul?"
Listen:
When we reach the end of the road...
When we stare the death angel in the face...
When every thing we're going to do is done...
If we're weighed on the balance and found wanting,
What will a man give in exchange for his soul?
The most valuable thing a man has is his own soul!
The soul will live through eternity!
When we go to meet God and He says, "Depart from
me!"
When we go to that place where "the smoke asends
up forever..."
We'd give ANYTHING in exchange for our soul!
If only we could go back!
If only we could repent!
But it will be too late!
He said, "I will reward every man according to his works."
If you have rejected Jesus, your reward will be
EVERLASTING
SEPARATION FROM GOD!
EVERLASTING TORMENT!
EVERLASTING WEEPING
AND WAILING AND GNASHING OF TEETH!
But if you have denied yourself...
If you have taken up your cross...
If you have followed Jesus...
Your reward will be EVERLASTING FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD!
ETERNITY IN THE PRESENCE OF YOUR SAVIOR!
Because Jesus said, "You're going to reap just what you sow!"
"Whosoever shall lose his life for My sake,
shall FIND IT!"
Some say that it doesn't really matter what you do...
But according to Jesus Christ, It REALLY DOES MATTER!
If you accumulate a great fortune...
More money that you could ever spend...
And come down to
that time appointed unto all men...
And you see the
death angel....
And you see the
gates of hell standing open...
If you had all the money in the world...
YOU COULD NOT BUY EVEN ONE MORE SECOND!
IT WILL BE TOO LATE!
One man was burned horribly in a fire. He was about to die.
He said, "I see the fires of hell!"
"I feel the heat of the flames!"
"and it's hotter than anything I've been
through!"
"AND IT'S TOO LATE!"
"I've lived my life without God!"
"Years ago I made my descion!"
"AND NOW IT'S
TOO LATE!"
Because Jesus said, "What is a man profited if he gain the whole world and LOSE his
own soul?"
The "New Gospel", the "Modern Philosophy" is:
Let's not offend anyone! Let's not scare anyone!
Let's preach Jesus and HIs love....
But let's NOT mention hell....
But more is said in the bible about hell than about heaven!
Hell is a place of sorrows! Psalms 18:5
Hell is a place of pain! Psalms 116:3
Hell is a place of destruction! Proverbs 15:11
Hell is a place of damnation! Matthew 23:33
Hell is a place of Fire! Matthew 5:22
Hell is a place of torment! Luke 16:23
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!
The smoke will rise up FOREVER!
It is a lake of fire and brimstone!
If you reject Jesus Christ, You will spend eternity
there!
BUT God made a way to escape!
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: No man cometh to the Father except
by Me!"
Peter said, "There is none other name under heaven given among men whereby
WE MUST BE SAVED!"
So, what is your decision today?
God says, "Choose ye this day whom you will serve!"
Will you choose death and destruction...
or will you choose EVERLASTING LIFE?
Jesus is saying, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock!"
"If you will come after Me, then deny yourself and take up your cross and follow
Me!"
Will you choose the Friend that sticketh closer than a brother?
There are only TWO MASTERS!
Jesus or Satan!
Only TWO ETERNAL DESTINATIONS
Heaven or hell!
If you reject Jesus today, you ARE CHOOSING SATAN!
Will you make the descision for Jesus?
He is calling you RIGHT NOW!
He's speaking to your heart!
